Shoden Level class. Shoden means first teachings Two-day Intensive, noon-6pm, $125 ($50.00 deposit due at registration) Reiki 1 is a dive on in to the joyful waters of embodied healing! I came to Reiki because I wanted to learn how to offer healing in a manner that was playful as it was sacred . I worked for years in talk therapy as a counselor and really needed some type of healing that focused on being embodied through healing touch. And I needed a healing modality that felt, even when healing the most serious dis-ease, as if it was divine sacred play! |

In this introductory class, in addition to exploring the fundamentals of Reiki, we will learn how to engage in shamanic drum journeying and divination to meet your power animal (or animal guide) who will act as your reiki ally! We'll learn how to "overlight" our own auras with our allies' energy field. This is a powerful relationship with a benevolent healing spirit who can enhance your practice. You will learn Reiki history and techniques, share our perceptions of energy and Reiki, practice giving and receiving Reiki treatments, and receive the initiation ceremony of Reiju or Reiki Attunement. In many ways I find these classes to be a powerful space where our hearts, minds, spirits and bodies align to change the very fabric of our lives. And they are life-changing.
Arriving for Class
Please arrive 15 minutes before class so that we can all start our journey together on time. Remember to take care of yourself before coming to an Intensive. Eating, sleeping, and hydrating are all important components of energy work.
You may want to wear comfy clothes and bring a journal, nourishing snacks, water canteen, printed Reiki scroll (sent to you via email prior to class) and a blanket or pillow if your body desires. Please bring your payment for class in an envelope with your name marked on it. Also, we will have a midday meal break so feel free to bring a lunch or funds for nearby restaurants. Lastly, being clean and sober for class is a must out of loving respect for anyone who may be in recovery.

- Ethics of Healing Touch
- Practice offering Reiki sessions to others
- How to clear after a session
- Reiki exercises for self-care
- And of course, You will receive Reiki 1 Attunement and Certificate
The Reiki Attunement or Reiju
The Attunement ceremony is passed on near the end of our first day so students will have time to rest afterwards and check in on the next day about their experience. Attunements are initiatory rituals that allow you to absorb, channel, and offer an increased amount of ki. Everything has ki flowing through it. And everything has the potential to offer ki to another being in need of balance and healing. However, most people have a diminished capacity to do so. For many of us, social conditioning in various forms have tangled and clogged our luminous bodies, chakras, and meridians. The Attunements are passed on in levels; with each one vastly increasing your ability to channel ki while also clearing the path to your life's work and higher selves.
The Reiki 1 Attunement works to untangle and clear the energy channels or meridians. It very often feels like an energetic/physical detox as stagnant energies are flushed out and replaced with a vibrant ki circulation. And this vibrant ki circulation not only shifts the energetic and physical bodies but it also shifts the types of life experiences we draw to ourselves.
The Attunements also shift a Reiki practitioner into the lineage current. This becomes a spiritual connection to the powerful current and allyship of the benevolent compassionate healing masters and divine beings (past, present, and future) of the Reiki lineages. Additionally, it connects practitioners to the living intuitive Reiki symbols (reviewed in Reiki 2) as they are woven into bodies as life-long allies.
Now that you are a Reiki Shoden
Attunements last for this a lifetime. They fundamentally shift the energy-matter bodies. You will be able to offer Reiki to yourself and others indefinitely. And after this two day intensive you will have the foundational knowledge to incorporate Reiki into your current healing practice, self-care techniques, or the care of friends, loved ones and animal companions. And of course you will have your Reiki 1 certificate!
Just like with any modality, the more you offer Reiki AND receive Reiki greater becomes your ability to channel through to others. Also, as you continue to match your hands-on practice with learning about physical anatomy and energy centers it will give you an amazing understanding of our beautiful human bodies. And should you feel the call to continue deepening your relationship with Reiki, your Reiki family is here to support you.
